Systems Engineer for complex production tools  

At HyET Solar we're looking for a Systems Engineer for complex production tools to join our team.

The role

Join us in revolutionizing solar energy production with innovative roll-to-roll processes, directly contributing to a sustainable future and a greener planet. Initially, you’ll focus on further developing and optimizing our current 40MWp factory. Over the course of the next year, you’ll also contribute to the conceptual design of a new state-of-the-art 1GWp factory, which is planned to be operational in approximately five years. As part of the Machine Engineering team, you are at the forefront of this exciting transformation, designing cutting-edge production tools for flexible solar modules with diverse applications. Your tasks

As a Systems Engineer complex production tools you will take the technical lead in developing and improving our most complex production tools. These tools are multi-million high tech production machines specially designed for our application. PECVD and APCVD processes are among these critical processes and experience with these techniques is considered an advantage. These machines employ many different technical aspects such as Plasma’s, Vacuum, EM antenna design, Control engineering, Thermal and Flow as well as sound Mechanical, Electrical and Software design. Our tools are developed together with external partners. 

Your role as systems engineer is to write and maintain the specification for the tool, listening to your internal HyET customers from process development and ensuring a robust stable tool for our manufacturing organization. You ensure that an optimal balance between the different disciplines and requirements is struck for HyET in the final design. You work closely together with our partners. We envision you work closely together with a senior project manager, to find an optimal balance between costs, lead-time, and quality / scope. Our perfect candidate is able to capture both these roles in one person.  

We are ideally looking for candidates who will not only be keen to use their theoretical and design background but also are not afraid to work hands on if required.  

Our ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience and:  

  • Experience in technically leading a multi-disciplinary team involving suppliers. 

  • MSc (or PhD) in Engineering in any of the relevant techniques while having affinity with most of the other techniques. 

  • Ability and desire to quickly learn the basics of new technologies.  

  • Affinity or experience with PECVD or APCVD or roll to roll processes is considered a big plus 

  • A hands- on approach as evident from previous work. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. 

  • Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken). Dutch is a plus.  

  • Experience with automation and process control is an advantage. 

  • Experience with writing engineering documents 

  • less experienced candidates with exceptional potential or a willingness to learn will also be considered 

What we offer

  • Our terms and conditions are conforming the Collective Agreement Metalektro (CAO);

  • A fulltime position for 40 hours per week, mostly within office hours;

  • A salary ranging between € 4.000,- and € 6.000,- for a 40 hours working week depending on relevant working experience;

  • 27 holidays and 13 scheduled paid days per year for a fulltime job;

  • Pension scheme at PME;
